A few weekends ago I was off to a hen party. As always, I hadn’t decided what to wear in advance as my thinking was I would suddenly get inspired on the day. That I would look in my wardrobe and there would be the perfect outfit. Perfect for the occasion. Perfect for the weather. A winner all round. I don’t think has EVER happened. Every single time I’m attending an exciting event, I curse myself a little that I haven’t pre-planned and tell myself that I will be outfit organised for the next wedding/hen party/bar mitzah – never been to the last one but you never know! For the hen party I wanted something I could wear to a ahem, boozy lunch, then straight onto a club. On the morning of the celebrations, I headed out to my local charity shops with an open mind. I went into Fara and found an amazing black, mesh maxi skirt with lining and a leather waistband. Paired with a smart grey t-shirt, burgundy lip stain and the biggest gold earrings, I thought this could be an option. I then went on to Marie Curie – and things got a little out of control. Armed with a cream linen jumpsuit, a leather midi skirt, an embroidered smock dress and many more ‘I must try right away’ second-hand bits`, I went into the changing room for a mammoth trying on session. I ended up going for the photographed black skirt. With this Oxfam black top, flatforms and an orange (a.k.a my new favourite colour) jumper, I felt comfortable and suitably dressed for all boozy situations, day to night!
