Shirt & Skirt: Barnardo's, Jumper: Oxfam, Shoes: Dr Martens

It's been a while. After being struck down by a fairly bad cold a few weeks ago, I have been struggling to find the energy to get dressed. Let alone get dressed, add a little make-up and prance around taking snaps of myself...! However, last weekend I managed to get myself up and about. Dressed in almost entirely charity shop, I saw it as a good opportunity to get this dusty corner of the interweb up and running again.

Prior to being resided to my bed and coughing up all sorts, I had ventured into Barnardo's and picked up this spotty vintage shirt thinking it would look great with cut-off Levi's for those summer holidays - not that I am wishing away the months, mind. During my trip, I also picked up an equally dotty skirt (albeit, with a slightly different size of polka dots). I didn't really buy the skirt with the intention of pairing it with this shirt. However, after a little 'trying on all my second-hand purchases' session, I realised I liked the combination of the contrast in polka dots. Since it wasn't quite possible to spend longer that ten minutes sans jumper with Storm Doris being a not to distance memory, I threw on the comfiest cream jumper from Oxfam. The skirt, jumper and shirt are some of my favourite second-hand purchases of 2017 so far. Here's to many, many more!

Jumper: Oxfam, Skirt: H&M, Shoes: Dr Martens

Sometimes it's the simplistic, plainer pieces of clothing that draw me in when charity shopping. It might be the colour or the cut that I first notice. In the case last weekend, it was the colour of this jumper which led to me parting with my £3. It was the easiest decision of the day..month..2017 so far! When thinking about what to pair with this oversized comfy, casual jumper, I thought it would counterbalance the dressiness of the skirt (y'know, being patent, a little on the short/tight side and all) so I could wear it during the day. This particular day took a turn for the better when I headed down my local high-street and began weaving in and out of Oxfam, Barnardo's and the rest of the places on my list of top ten destinations. It was one of those occasions where I liked everything I tried on. From tailored trousers I have been after for a good ol' while to that chunky, cream knit to the a jazzy pair of shorts, I bought the lot and I love it!

Have you picked up any charity shop bargains of late?
