There has always been something about disposable cameras I have loved. From the ability to chuck in your pocket/bag without worrying about them breaking to the excitement of when they arrive back in Snappy Snaps and are ready for pick up. In the queue at Boots I spotted a disposable camera, a fun flash if you will, and threw in my basket ready for my trip to New York last month. A few of the pictures returned with fingers over lenses (which you can spot over on Facebook), overexposed and with only half the Statue of Liberty in shot but overall they still provided some laughs, good memories and some non-virtual, actual real life snaps for the ol’ holiday album.
I absolutely loved New York and can’t wait to return in the future. As we mooched around the second-hand shops I became totally hooked on the idea that we need more Buy-Sell-Trade shops in London (similar to my fave in NYC, Buffalo Exchange). As well as encouraging the purchase of second-hand clothing they also provide sellers the opportunity to take unwanted items in to either trade or sell. Similar to a eBay but without the hassle of postage and packaging for seller and receiving an item that doesn’t quite fit/suit you for the buyer! A win-win if you ask me!
Along with the shopping and sightseeing we managed to fit in a lot of amazing food with the help of the Foursquare. Pointing us in the direction of the best pizzas/bagels and Lebanese food I have ever tasted, we definitely did not go hungry! If you’re ever in a new city and after some food then this is seriously the app for you. I’m now of to raid the kitchen in the hope that someone has left me a New York style Bare Burger -fingers crossed….!
