Coat: Cancer Research Charity Shop, Shirt: Primark (old but similar collar), Stripy Top: New Look, Skirt & Boots: Topshop

This month I’m heading to New York and to say I was excited would be the understatement of the year so far! As soon as the flight conformation details dropped virtually into my inbox, I started thinking about what coat I would take because, rumour has it (or, so the BBC weather app tells me) New York is per-retry bladdy cold at the moment. After searching around the high-street shops and not having much luck, I ventured in to my local Cancer Research charity shop and sitting on the end of the coat rail was this checked black and red blazer style jacket. After a quick trip to the dry cleaners, it was ready to be worn. Rather than saving it for The Big Apple I took my new coat for a spin around London Town. Being suitably warm and going with most of my wardrobe, this coat ticks all sartorial boxes.

As well as studying NYC weather in depth over the past few weeks, my research into New York has included watching back-to-back episodes of Friends, Gossip Girl and Sex and the City! Needless to say, I’m am so ready to hop on the plane and begin a new adventure so if you have any recommendations of places to eat/shop/see please let me know!
