I picked up this shirt from Oxfam a few days ago and have been absolutely laving it! It’s looks as though it’s a cross between a shirt and a jacket so have been wearing it buttoned up as a shirt but also layered, unbuttoned, with slouchy t-shirts underneath.
Today marks the first day of #Secondhandfirst week. #Secondhandfirst is the brainchild of fashion reuse charity TRAID. This week is all about celebrating the fabulous-ness of second-hand clothing (I’m a fan, ya know) and encouraging others to keep the resources already available in use for longer. Sounds like a plan to me. TRAID specify their key aim is ‘to increase the number of people committing to wearing and sourcing more of their clothes (and other resources) second-hand, rather than new.’ There are tons of events taking place at numerous TRAID stores this week including screen printing, up-cycling jewellery and a Swap ’til you drop at London College of Fashion. To find out more about these event’s head over to TRAID’s events page.
Super-blogger, Susie Bubble, has pledged to source 50% of her clothes second hand. You too can take an online pledge to source more second-hand goodness over here. Let me know how you get on!
