Once in a while you can drop into a charity shop and find a rail of items for £1. It's once in a blue moon that your perfect shirt is also on that rail! I picked up this shirt from my local Prospect Hospice a few weeks ago and have already worn it with jeans/skirts/pinafores - so it's possibly around 5p per wear at this moment in time! Last year I had a favourite faux leather skirt which I wore everywhere but after a while it started falling apart and I struggled to find a replacement so I was super-duper happy when I found this great quality skirt tucked away in my local Oxfam. Making the most of last of the tight-less weather, I teamed the skirt with my favourite boots as a friend and I enjoyed Charity Fashion Live last weekend. As well as attending the Oxfam event in Covent Garden (and picking up a few items), we ventured around Mary's Living and Giving shop, visited Dawn O'Porter's BOB pop-up shop, enjoyed the buzz of London Fashion Week and ended the day watching X Factor - a bloomin' great day, I think!

Shirt: Charity Shop DIY'd, T-Shirt: Oxfam, Jeans: River Island, Boots*: Shoe Zone, Bag: Old! (Similar), Hat: H&M, Sunglasses: ASOS (Similar)
Although these pictures look as though they were taken months ago in the midst of summer, they were actually taken last weekend. I'm not entirely sure when the weather changed from 'sunglasses and slouchy shirt' weather into 'soggy socks' weather, but it has. Enough of this gripping British weather-related chat from me - more about the outfit.
I'm really excited to be writing for the incredibly worthy Cancer charity, CLIC Sargent. My first fashion DIY post for the charity's fashion blog should be up over the next few weeks. It involved a little fashion DIY involving this shirt (it was originally a dress). CLIC Sargent also have a brilliant online shop called Fix Up Look Sharp. The shop contains items of clothing which have been made using materials sourced in charity shops. A particular favourite of mine is this 90's cropped sweatshirt - although I would happily wear all the amazing items from the shop. It's easy to spend a fair ol' amount of time on the Fix Up Look Sharp website with the blog and the online shop - which I may have done this afternoon...!

During a recent browsing session of the Oxfam website I picked out a few of my favourite shirts which could easily be altered in the same way my checked one has. I love this J Crew Check Shirt which is Men's but would look blommin' brilliant for an oversized, relaxed fit. I'm also a huge fan of this Multi Coloured Long Sleeve number. Ah, you really can't go wrong on the Oxfam Online Shop so go ahead and put it all in your basket...before I do ;)

A little throwback to the 90's in an Oxfam outfit today. I wear this dress regularly with converse and a t-shirt around the house but I thought I would toughen when out 'n' about today with the world's most comfy boots.
I'm heading back to college tomorrow so I have been using 'it's the last day of the summer holidays' as an excuse to procrastinate and browse the vintage section of the Oxfam website. Full to the brim of vintage loveliness (which you can categories by price, size and era), the Oxfam website has something for everyone. I have picked out a few of my favourites. This grey dress would be perfect for the 'back to school' look with thick tights and ankle boots. I'm so in love with this purple kaftan - it would be amazing for anyone going on a last minute summer holiday - please buy it :) And finally, this vintage 1970's dress fits in so well with the whole 70's trend that is all over the high-street right now, it would almost be rude not to buy it..!

Before I head back to college and spend my days covered in all things thread, pins and fabric I thought I would wear my silk dress out for a drink. I picked up this dress from ASOS earlier this year with vouchers I won in Zoe LDN's colour control competition. This was the first thing I've ever won (and we're including school fate raffles in this) so to say I was excited would be an understatement. I also got a playsuit and the dress I have worn most on this little space of the internet - also both from ASOS.
I have rediscovered my love for these blue boots of late. It was around this time last year when I spotted them in the sale - last pair in my size and all that jazz. After contemplating picking these up for the £95 they originally were for a fair ol' while and then finding they were out of stock EVERYWHERE, I began to think I had lost the boots forever. I was per-rettty darn happy when I walked into the Westfield Topshop to spot them alone in the sale. I was evan happier when I trotted to the till to discover they were £20! ASOS currently have an almost identical pair which seem to good to pass up on to me - don't make the same mistake as me. I almost lost these boots first time round - I don't want to see the same thing happen to you!

I picked up this silk shirt in my local Cancer Research UK shop a few weeks ago and have been looking forward to finding the perfect outfit to wear it with. Last week in Urban Outfitters I found the shirt's perfect pairing. I have been eyeing up pinafore dresses for good ol' while and felt that this one fitted me best out of any (many) I have tried on. Another selling point for me was that, being black, I can pretty much throw on any top underneath and be ready to head out the door. Lazy dressing at its best.
As I mentioned in my last post, I posted my first Haulternative video over on YouTube - I pretty much shut my eyes and hit 'Publish' before I had time to change my mind. If you like it, it would be bloomin' amazing if you could subscribe/like the video :) This morning I went routing around the charity shops with my friend and we picked up some mega bargains so I'm hoping to get round to filming another Haulternative video within the next few weeks. You know, me and charity shops - any excuse...

Although I love shopping in charity shops (you may have noticed), I also have a few ol' favourite high-street items that I always go back to. My friend bought me this Forever 21 dress for my birthday a few years ago and it is still at the forefront of my wardrobe - perfect for all occasions! The jacket was a more recent purchase from Missguided which you can still buy online (here).
Yesterday I posted my first YouTube video (here). It's a haulternative which is a haul style video made up of all items from charity shops. If you like it I would be so super grateful if you could like it and subscribe :) I'm hoping to do a lot more videos mostly made up of all things thrifted!
