Great British Sewing Bee Skirt

After touching back down in Landon Town after my holiday I had a few weeks spare before I had any work planned so I got out my Great British Sewing Bee book (with patterns and projects from series two) and picked a mini project. I had this woven tartan fabric in the corner of my room. I had been meaning to put this fabric to use for a good ol' while so I got pinning, cutting and sewing. The patterns in the book have clear, concise instructions and are very easy to follow. I began marking all of the projects which I wanted to complete but soon stop when I realised I was marking every page. From 60's coats to beautiful dresses, there is something for everyone in this book. Next on my 'I need to make ASAP list' is a bowling shirt with contrasting floral fabrics. I fell in love with the shirt Caroline Flack wore for the Love Island advert and have no idea where it is from so re-creating something similar would be fun.

Although I think this skirt will be perfect for Autumn/Winter with opaque tights, a shirt and a knitted jumper I couldn't resist wearing it a little early. I have paired it with my Oxfam top which is quickly become the most over worn item in my wardrobe!
