On Saturday I opened the curtains to see only blue sky so I took the opportunity to dig out these shorts I bought from Oxfam about 3 years ago. I still love ’em today as much as I did way back when. The shirt is a fairly more recent purchase which justified its worth on holiday when it provided a perfect light cover-up for someones (?!) sun-burnt shoulders. I love the big pointed collar and the lightness of it. It enables me to comfortably venture outside in the summer whilst feeling somewhat dressed which I probably wouldn’t feel if I paired these lovely shorty shorts with a equally skimpy top.
Last week I was helping out with the costumes for a theatre company in Covent Garden so it was a requirement that I wore only black clothing which was bloomin’ boiling in the heat so shorts and the lightweight shirt made a welcome change on Saturday. This week I am helping to make costumes for a production of Hairspray which is great fun as I LOVE the late 50’s/early 60’s fashion but it does mean that I have been singing ‘Welcome to the 60’s’ over and over and over and over again…it’s a small price 🙂
