I watched a documentary about fashion a while back that said when shopping for clothing/footwear you should ask yourself whether you would wear the item of interest at least 30 times. This is to avoid buying things, wearing them once and then leaving them sad, unloved and unworn in the back of the wardrobe. As soon as I spotted these boots in Shoe Zone I knew I would wear them many a time. Shoe Zone currently have some brilliant boots in stock including these Platform Ankle Boots and these Ankle Boots with Metal Trims (if you’re more of a heels kinda gal). All these pairs would be ideal for summer with socks and a dress (my staple summer wardrobe) and pretty bloomin’ perfect for winter with thick tights and chunky knits. Another addition to my ‘I’m going to wear this 30+ times’ wardrobe is this ASOS dress. I’m always after those easy-to-wear items which I can throw on and walk out the door but would also fit into the ‘I kinda made an effort’ category. The ASOS dress section is full of such dresses and on my obligatory weekly browse I picked up this black dress with embroidered trims. Since ripping open the fancy ASOS packaging I have had to make a conscious effort not to sport this dress/boots combo every single day.
In other news, I have (finally!?) finished my 18th century dress for my Theatrical Costume course (see here). To celebrate, this weekend is going to consist of Pimms in the rain (is that allowed?) and catching up with my little ol’ blog – I’ve missed you!
