Missguided Newbie

Missguided Suede Jacket
Jacket: Missguided, Shirt & Bag: Oxfam, Skirt: Urban Outfitters (Similar)

This outfit was a mistake. I put it all on then started walking down the road and man, it was toasty! I got this jacket in my first ever Missguided purchase a few weeks ago and I'm pretty much in love with it. I have mixed it up here with a few thrifted items (the bag and the shirt from Oxfam) and an Urban Outfitters skirt. I hadn't shopped on Missguided previously but had always seen others wearing amazing things from there so thought it was about time I made a purchase. I also picked up this dress which I have been wearing with my Dr Martens and socks for a days out 'n' about.

Hope you've got a lotta brilliant plans for the Bank Holiday weekend. My weekend is (still) consisting of all things costume/sewing. My latest post for Oxfam is now up so if you have a bit of spare time on your Bank Holiday Monday and fancy a browse of all things thrifted/DIY then head over here :)

Another Oxfam Outfit

Oxfam Fashion
Oxfam Fashion
Skirt, Shirt & Bag: Oxfam, Boots: Schuh (Similar)

I didn't realise until I began linking the products to this outfit that it is all (bar the boots) from Oxfam.  I got this skirt a few weeks ago and, as well as teaming it with a shirt (as I have in the pictures), I have also been chucking it on with a thin t-shirt and my trusty Dr Marten/sock combo. The hair-style to go with this skirt has mostly been unbrushed hair scraped into a top-knot but I decided to let it down and brush it for this occasion :) Although I am looking forward to heading out for a Pimms (when the sun is out it's rude not to and all that) I have spent the past few weeks sewing. I have 3 weeks (eeeek) until I have to have my 18th century dress (for my costume course) finished and ready to wear (so it won't fall apart as I walk) so until then my outfits are all about the comfort. However, in 3 weeks and 1 day I will be wearing this skirt with some big ol' heels, a t-shirt, a big necklace and red lipstick for that much needed glass (read: jug) of Pimms :)

Since I'm back studying at college (7 years after leaving the first time!) I have re-mastered the art of procrastination. I have been loving the vintage corner of the Oxfam Online Shop. From a beautiful 1960's light blue dress perfect for any upcoming summer weddings, to a pink 70's Marjorie Ward number (Glastonbury, anyone?), to an AMAZING high-neck, handmade chiffon, black dress - I'll take it all!

Hope you're enjoying the sun.

ASOS Again

Playsuit: ASOS (Similar), Hat: H&M, Boots: Topshop, Bag: Oxfam

This playsuit was my second pick from the ASOS website after winning vouchers in Zoe LDN's colour control competition. I also picked two dresses (here and here) after winning a voucher in the competition which was bloomin' amazing since I don't think I have ever won anything in my life - apart from perhaps the odd egg n' spoon race many moons ago. Since it hasn't been warm enough to wear it tight-less yet I have been wearing it with warm tights, big ol' boots and a leather jacket. I'm looking forward to wearing it in the summer as part of a more boho look with wavy hair, an abundance of rings and ASOS suede boots (which I don't yet have but would love)!

Hope you've got a wonderful Sunday planned. Mine is going to go something like coffee-friends-sewing-sewing-sewing. In just 3 teeny-tiny weeks my 18th century costume needs to be complete for show at a gallery in London. Ooo, just thinking about this makes me nervous - better be off to start the sewing-sewing-sewing part of my day :)

Mixing the Charity Shop with the High-Street

UK Charity Shop Blog
Dress: Oxfam, Faux Fur: ASOS (Similar-ish!), Lipstick: Sephora

Before heading out yesterday I took a few ol' snaps of my outfit. Having worn this dress so many times since bagging it from Oxfam I thought it was about time I posted it on my blog again. From college to a night out, this dress is for every occasion. Since it's got a bit cold again (got my legs out a little early in this post) I decided to chuck on my ASOS pink faux fur - when in doubt and all that. I haven't been to the charity shops lately (only a short while until the withdrawal symptoms kick in) so I have been browsing the inter-web. As well as my regular stop off to the Oxfam website I have also been spending a little too much time on the Topshop website (when will this jumpsuit come back into stock?!) and the Missguided corner of the web trying to get my mitts on the suede jacket from The Little Magpie's post on festival outfits. I would very happily wear all the outfits from this post but managed to narrow my favourite item down to the suede jacket - it sounds like I have way to much time on my hands when I say it like that!

Hope you have a great Bank Holiday Monday. I'm going to be spending the day sewing as my costume course ends in a few weeks so have a big ol' dress to put together :)
