On the first sunny day of the year I wore all kinds of H&M. I picked up this skirt on a little shopping trip a few weeks ago. I love the colour and am looking forward to wearing it a lot probably with the usual jumper/shirt combo or an ol’ scruffy t-shirt. I love the colour and it fits in with the midi/70’s/skirt theme I had going on in my last post!
Now the days are getting longer, and the weather means I no longer have to spend an hour talking myself into changing out of my pyjama trousers/roll-neck combo and into something more outer-wear appropriate, there are a few exhibitions I want to get around to visiting in London. First stop is the Imperial War Museum for the exhibition called “Fashion on the Ration: 1940s Street Style” – I have already seen some pictures of incredible pieces of clothing produced during the 1940’s including a beautiful underwear set made up of silk RAF maps. Next stop will hopefully be the Alexander McQueen: Savage Beauty exhibition which is opening this weekend at the V&A. I’ve read that this exhibition takes a look into the designers work spanning from 1992 (his graduate collection) to 2010 (his final collection). With headpieces made of butterflies to those veil covered antlers (still trying to think of how to pull these of on a daily basis), I think this exhibition is going to be spectacular 🙂 And finally I’m hoping to stop by the Fashion and Textile Museum for “Thea Porter 70s Bohemian Chic” because I’m just loving all things 70’s right now.
I better go, got a lot of museums to get too 🙂
