Now, this is a story all about how to*...

*you have to sing the title Fresh Prince style otherwise it seems that I am going to start telling a story...

I have been desssppperately (that's very desperate) been trying to save my money but I find myself increasingly bored of my wardrobe so I started looking for anything that I could find to alter and then I could pretend to myself was new - sneaky, I know.

I've taken a black Topshop skater dress that I have worn only a few times and styled it in a few ways following feelings of nostalgia for all things 90's. Here they are:
Dress & Shirt-Topshop, Flatforms-H&M, Jacket-Judy's Vintage Market
Dress-Topshop, Flatforms and Hat-H&M,, Bag - ASOS, T-Shirt - Green T-shirt from Primark (DIY Acid dye)

And then I got the ol' scissors and sewing machine out (which I may have broken in the process but you don't have to do that bit) and started chopping, sewing and safety-pinning in the hope that I might look like Liz Hurley in THAT Versace dress - no such luck I am afraid, but I had fun making it. Here it is:

Dress - Topshop (Adapted), Kimino - Urban Outfitters, Boots - Schuh, Hat - H&M, Sunglasses - Free with Cosmopolitan

The best thing about the nature of 90's fashion is that you can go as crazy as you want when re-inventing a simple black dress - safety pins can be placed anywhere, bleach can be used to achieve an acid dye look and unfinished edges can be left to get the fraying look - the possibilities are endless!

Hope you have a lovely weekend!

Lots of Love,

Another day in the life of my Oxfam skirt

Skirt - Oxfam , Boots - Schuh, Jacket - Oasis, Shirt/T-shirt - Topshop, Bag - Primark, Sunglasses - ASOS (Mens)

Another day in the life of my favourite, super-duper Oxfam skirt. After spotting this beauty and adapting it slightly to fit me, this skirt has still not seen the inside of my wardrobe almost a month after purchase (don't you worry though - it has seen the washing machine). I go to London at the weekends on a regular basis and I forever have the battle of packing light enough for me to drag my weekend bag  comfortably around Paddington station but not too light that I end up wearing my (not so exciting) office wear on Saturday and Sunday. This skirt is perfect - I love it a lot so I will happily wear it 2 days running - and I can call it casual by knotting the bottom or smarten it up with my 'oh so respectable' cream shirt. Oh the options are endless!

Hope you had a lavely weekend.

Give a girl the right shoes and she can conquer the world

Playsuit & Shoes - Topshop, Bag - Clarks, Sunglasses - Free with Cosmopolitan

I get so nostalgic for the certain era's when watching TV/seeing pictures/just generally daydreaming. When watching Downton Abbey I wish I could carry off a floor length embellished gown down to dinner - my Mum would probably have a few questions as I normally trudge into the kitchen in leggings and the comfiest jumper with my hair a bit tied up/a bit down and the rest all over place.

Most recently, I have been feeling nostalgic for the 50's. When the sun appears I would like nothing more than to put on high waisted patterned shorts with a matching bikini top (which I don't have but I can dream), pack my wicker bag and head to the beach with friends. So when I saw this wicker bag in Clarks the other day I had to have it - it fits in with my 'I want to be on a beach in the 50's' theme perfectly. And it's an essential wardrobe item - everyone needs a teeny, tiny wicker bag with palm trees on, right!?

Lots of Love,
Hannah

River Island Dress and Cosmo Sunnies

Dress - River Island, Boots - Schuh, Bag - ASOS, Sunglasses - Free with Cosmopolitan

The sunshine fooled me today - I put on this dress and happily stepped outside. Turns out this dress is not at all good when it's breezy outside! Ah well - I live and learn...! I bought this dress from River Island and now I want to book a holiday now so I can wear it daily - it's super comfy and light that I worry that one morning I will forget to put it on. Then I'll have to more to worry about than the odd poor person getting a flash of my underwear...!

Lots of Love,

Flowers on mi skirt

Skirt - Charity Shop, T-Shirt - Topshop, Boots - Schuh, Bag - ASOS, Watch - Urban Outfitters

I was on my way to the train station a few weeks ago (I was hurrying to catch a train) when I spotted this skirt lurking at the front of a charity shop. I couldn't resist - I had to go in! It wasn't my size but I've done a bit of DIY and it fits now. For only £3 I wear this skirt with a Cheshire cat kind of grin on my face. As I am trying to save at the moment shopping for charity is the only kind of shopping that I allow myself to do - well, for the past week anyway!

Vintage Graffiti

Dress - Vintage Shop, Belt - Topshop, Boots - Schuh, Bag - ASOS, Watch - Urban Outfitters

In the deep dark corners of a vintage shop in Bristol I found this dress for 10 tiny, little pounds. It fits into the same category as my 'I can be worn everrryywhere' boots. The shops I bought it from had a space on ASOS Marketplace but I can't for the life of me remember what it was called (sorry about that). I also try and avoid typing 'ASOS Marketplace' into the web address bar - if I do type it in then a few hours later I have spent my weekly wage and I go to bed feeling incredible guilty!

Have a loooovely Saturday!

Lots of Love,
Hannah
